Mortgage Principal Reduction Program

MCDC manages a Mortgage Principal Reduction Program (MPRP) to help reduce the overall cost of purchasing a home built by our sister company, Midland Community Housing Development Organization (MCHDO). We offer up to $25,000 in MPRP assistance to qualified buyers. Working with our HUD-Certified Housing Counselor (Home Pre-Purchase Consultant), you’ll have a trained professional working with you to develop a step-by-step process to achieve your homeownership dreams. The MPRP is open to low-to-moderate income households (income guideline chart is available below) and full-time employees of the City of Midland, Midland Memorial Hospital, and Midland Independent School District, regardless of their income.*

*Please note: Homebuyers utilizing the MPRP must reside in the purchased home as their primary residence for 10 years, or the assistance will need to be repaid on a prorated basis.
